本片在洛杉矶独立电影节荣获最佳导演剪辑奖。该片主角Geoff Sims，是一位来自悉尼的天文学家。他于2013年获得博士学位，主修南极天文学。在此期间，他曾帮助在世界上最干最冷的地区建立太赫兹天文台。Geoff热爱摄影，是名副其实的日食猎手。同时，他也是悉尼天文台的讲解员。他从2002年起便踏上了追逐日食的旅程，而随后本片导演Nelson Quan也加入了其中。
Photographer, Geoff Sims gets bitten by the eclipse bug after witnessing the darkness of a total solar eclipse. To feed his obsession, he goes on a quest to capture as many solar eclipses as possible leading him to unleash a photographic assault in the far reaches of Africa only to get clouded out by mother nature. Juggling between real life, doing odd jobs and maintaining a relationship threaten his quest to experience the next eclipse, he gets a real adventure when he decides to head to the North Pole to face off with mother nature again to experience the next total solar eclipse.
