在这部最强美国英雄喜剧片中,1981-83年播出过的ABC剧《最强美国英雄 The Greatest American Hero》又一次被重启（15年时曾经由FOX开发重启版但失败），ABC今天正式预订新版的试映集。
这部半小时喜剧由Rachna Fruchbom执笔，跟原版不同的是，新版《最强美国英雄》把主角性别改成女性，剧中30岁﹑住在Cleveland传统印裔家庭的女主角Meera，她仅有的才能就是喝龙舌兰酒及唱卡拉OK；不过某天外星人们给了她一件超级战衣来保护地球，这下子最不靠谱的英雄就诞生了。
Meera, a 30-year-old woman from Cleveland who "loves tequila and karaoke" and has spent her life "failing to find meaning, much to the chagrin of her traditional Indian-American family," is granted superpowers and is tasked with saving Earth after obtaining a goofy red costume.
