在这部长歌剧情片中,BBC ONE宣布将把安德烈埃·莱维名作《长歌》(The Long Song，暂译)改编为三集同名迷你剧，塔马拉·劳伦斯饰演女主角茱莱(July)，海莉·阿特维尔、杰克·劳登、兰尼·亨利加盟出演，玛荷莉亚·贝罗(Mahalia Belo)执导。故事发生在19世纪牙买加奴隶制社会最后的一段时间，年轻坚强的女奴茱莱(劳伦斯饰)为可恶的女主人凯洛琳(阿特维尔饰)工作，而当颇具魅力的新工头罗伯特(劳登饰)来到种植园，罗伯特想要改变种植园内奴隶制度的想法掀起了一场风暴。
